About Us.....

Doggy Dog World Daycare is a place for dogs to come and play for the day. At Doggy Dog World, we offer un-crated, supervised play for dogs of all sizes! This allows dogs to socialize with other dogs and humans all day. Dogs can play in small groups inside our home atmosphere, or run and play outside in our fenced backyard. We have a doggy cabana, playground equipment and two kiddie pools for your pooch's summer enjoyment.

Daycare is a fun way for dogs to be dogs on a daily basis. While you are at work, your dog will enjoy a full day of activities and one-on-one attention, and return to you in the evening exhausted.  Dogs are social animals, they enjoy being in a pack.  Daycare allows them to enjoy this instinct in a controlled manner.

We are also offering boarding.  We are taking reservations now for the summer so please call and ask about our rates and what your dog has to do to qualify.  We will fill up quickly so please make your reservations now!

Ben Hebert, Owner,Operations Manager

Hello everyone,

I'm Ben Hebert.  I am the owner and operator of this wonderful facility.  Baby Agnes is my dog and we are dedicated to caring for your four-legged friends as members of our pack.  I'm originally from New Iberia, Louisiana.  I am a musician, artist, jack-of-all trades sort of guy with a huge heart and a passion for dogs.  I've owned dogs my entire life and I found at an early age I had an aptitude towards training dogs.

I became an animal rights activist in the summer of 2002.  On July 30, 2002, while substituting for my mom's legal secretary, my first Rottweiler Agnes 1 was shot to death by a New Iberia Police Officer.  While I was away she somehow got out of the house and was hanging out in the yard.  One of the neighbors called animal control to get her back into the house.  After what witnesses say was 15 minutes of trying to catch her, a New Iberia Police Officer arrived on the scene.  Five minutes later she was dead, the victim of 5 fatal shots to the head and torso area.  I never got to say goodbye to Agnes 1, and her loss affected me deeply.

When I got Baby Agnes, I vowed to never let her come into harms way.   I began to find it very hard to leave her anywhere for any period of time.  I then coined the term "dog anxiety", for the feeling of dread I would feel whenever I left her alone.   So in late 2006, we began doing research on doggy daycares.  We then began scouting locations, and scrounging up every available resource.  After a stroke of luck, Doggy Dog World opened in Mid-City @ 4145 Canal Street in August of 2007, and we have been there ever since to serve you and your pet's needs.

This is a labor of love for me.  It's not solely a business venture.  This idea was borne out lots of soul-searching and sleepless nights.  In my own way, I'm providing a service to my community, helping to assure that no one around me ever has to face something as horrible as I once did.  In Doggy Dog World, the memory of Agnes 1 lives forever.

                                                                                     Sincerely,

                                                                     Ben Hebert
